Join us in making this year’s fund-raiser a mission to remember
From November 4 the shipping and trading community will join together once again to raise vital funds for Mercy Ships’ operations in Africa.
So be part of this great journey which has seen Cargo Day raise around $3 million since it was launched in 2016, including a record $1.3m in 2019.
The Covid-19 pandemic has posed massive challenges for all industries, including shipping, but it has also focused attention on the need for society globally to care for the most vulnerable.
And that is exactly what Mercy Ships is achieving in Africa with its hospital vessel Africa Mercy.
Cargo Day this year will follow the now established format whereby charterers, brokers and owners contribute so-called Mercy Cargoes, donate commissions and pledge donations.
More than 80 companies participated in last year’s Cargo Day, with their achievements recognised in a series of awards.
Unfortunately, Covid-19 means the Cargo Day 2020 Ball in Geneva has had to be cancelled and instead trophies have already been dispatched to the various category winners:
